Description
This monograph on the paintings of the Bay-Area local artist Jerry Carniglia was published after he passed away from cancer in 2015. One artist statement reads, “Although rooted in Abstract Expressionism, Carniglia’s work could be described as contemporary Baroque, with its exaggerated sense of motion, grandeur and implied drama.” A multitalented individual, Carniglia served in Vietnam, co-founded Berkeley Lights Theater Ensemble and San Francisco’s Eureka Theater Company, handcrafted furniture, and embarking on what he described as “painting as a life endeavor.” This book showcases many of his breathtaking oil paintings that capture interpretations of his beautiful life’s journey.
