Guided by Michael Wong, a beloved instructor from our C.I.A.O. program, you’ll learn techniques in oil painting using portable wooden easels, allowing you to fully engage with the stunning scenery.

- Ultramarine Blue
- Cadmium or Hansa Yellow
- Yellow Ochre
- Cadmium or Naphthol Red

Additionally:
- Phthalo Blue
- Naples Yellow or Nickel Titanate Yellow

Sets can provide a good value and can approximate the above palette
Please get water mixable oil paint. We will thin paint with water.
Support:
- At least three primed 8″ x 10″ canvas boards recommended.
Stretched canvas, linen boards, and hard boards can also be used but 8″ x 10″ max size and must be gessoed/primed and specified ready for oil painting.
Brushes:
- Stiff, synthetic brushes recommended
Natural bristles brushes not recommended for use with water - Fan Brush
- Round Brush size 6
- Flat Brush size 6
- Bright Brush size 6
- Filbert Brush size 6
- Small Palette knife (Richeson sizes 804 or 808 are good choices)
- Additionally, a Liner Brush, Round Size 0 or 1, and/or an extra Fan Brush are good additions.
