Basilicata Unveiled: Discovering Italy’s Hidden South

February 22 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Photograph of Basilicata in Southern Italy. It shows old architectural structures stacked on a mountainside with greenery at its base.

Marie Cartusciello presents a captivating exploration of Basilicata as part of our Regional Sunday Series.

Join us as we journey into one of Southern Italy’s most intriguing, and often overlooked, regions. Famous worldwide for the UNESCO World Heritage City of Matera, with its ancient sassi cave dwellings carved into stone, Basilicata holds far more than meets the eye.

Marie will guide us through the region’s rich layers: its dramatic landscapes, deep-rooted Lucanian heritage, distinctive wines, and centuries-old traditions that continue to shape everyday life. From hidden hilltop villages to unique cultural expressions, discover the many treasures that make Basilicata a place of profound history and enduring charm.

Come experience a region where ancient past and vibrant present meet, and see why Basilicata deserves a place on every Italophile’s map.

A light tasting of regional cuisine and wine will be offered!
