D’Annunzio, Alfredo P. – Biafro

An oil on canvas piece with a palette of blue, brown, green, black, blue, with hints of red. In the background of the piece is a light blue sky and a light brown sandy ground. The focus of the piece is a large figure that takes up the majority of the piece at the center. The figure is dressed in what looks like cloth creating a shapeless body with movement in the cloth to the right as if there is wind. The cloth has shades of dark green, black, and hints of red to add dimensionality. The figues head is a skull of a brownish-tan color and is looking down. To the left of the figure towards the ground is a black crow with its wings expanded. On the center left in front of thet figure is a smaller person that reaches half way to the taller figure. The boy is skinny, naked, with a small piece of blue torn cloth in his right hand. His head is turned to the left showing his profile, he has very short hair and sunken eyes, with his ribs showing. There is a small shadow on the left side that shows a diagonal line of the figure and the shadow of the crows wings intersected.
