D’Ambrosio, Franc – Diva 5

This deconstructed acrylic painting showcases a palette of white and varying shades of purple. At the center is a figure known as the “Diva,” shown from behind in a long, dark purple gown and a light purple shawl. Her arms are raised directly above her head, and her hair is styled in an updo. The lower part of her dress faded into abstract brushstrokes, gradually becoming lighter and forming a stage made of varying purples. A thin horizontal line runs from right to left across the canvas, suggesting the edge of the stage. The background behind the figure is a soft lavender, with the left side being lighter than the right. Brushstrokes above and to the right of the figure intensify the purple in the area. A diagonal stepped line descends from the top of the canvas, stopping just above the stage, possibly evoking a curtain or spotlight. Scattered white blotches throughout the background give texture and contrast to the overall composition.
