About the Artist
b. 1955, Asola (MN), ItalyAdriano Castelli was born in Asola, Italy, in the province of Mantova, where he continues to work and live. After a long period dedicated to black and white graphic art, Castelli started to focus on colors by using different media: pencil, pigment, watercolors, pastels, and oil. Through the use of light and symbolism, he explores mystical and spiritual themes. Italian art critic and historian Flavio Caroli described him as a “modern-day [JMW] Turner”. He has exhibited in Italy, France, Germany, and the United States.
