Castelli, Adriano – Prima Della Festa (Before the Party)

This watercolor painting showcases a palette of blue, yellow, brown, green, white, and black, which gives the piece texture and dimensionality. Despite the layering of color, each element of the painting is clearly defined. In the background, there is a brick building with an open window on the left side, a wooden door on the right, and a tree positioned in the center. To the left of the tree, there is a spinning wheel that is partially covered by a large draped cloth. To the right, a wooden chair holds an accordion. At the top of the painting, a thin sliver of blue sky is visible. The light concentrates in the center of the painting, highlighting the spinning wheel, cloth, chair, and accordion, which creates the focal point of the piece.
