Tinissima: The Art and Life of Tina Modotti in California and Beyond

Join the Museo and the Leonardo Da Vinci Society of San Francisco for the opening of a pop-up exhibition discovering the artistic legacy of one of the twentieth century’s most compelling Italian American photographers, Tina Modotti.

Tinissima: The Art and Life of Tina Modotti in California and Beyond, will feature a pop-up exhibition celebrating the life of Modotti, whose creative journey began in California and extended across borders and artistic communities. The evening will feature a curated selection of Modotti’s art, photography, and writings, as well as showcase her early work as a silent film actress during her time in California’s film industry. Through images, words, and film, Tinissima invites guests to explore Modotti’s evolution as an artist and the cultural environments that shaped her ideas and work. The exhibit opening will be accompanied by live music featuring music by Nick Rossi Trio, refreshments, and a a presentation on Modotti in California by Laura Ruberto.

The exhibition will remain on display at the Museo through Sunday May 17th , giving visitors, additional opportunities to view the work.

Registration will be handled through the Leonardo da Vinci Society of San Francisco website.
