ABOUT THE MOVIE: A Little Fellow: The Legacy of A.P. Giannini is a feature-length documentary exploring the remarkable life of A.P. Giannini, the first generation Italian-American who transformed banking and helped shape modern California.
Founder of the Bank of Italy, later Bank of America, Giannini made banking accessible to everyday people, offering loans on a handshake and supporting small businesses when others wouldn’t. He played a vital role in rebuilding San Francisco after the 1906 earthquake and financed major projects like the Golden Gate Bridge and early Hollywood studios.
Through rare artifacts and expert interviews, the film highlights Giannini’s impact on the economy during the Great Depression and World Wars, and his enduring legacy as a champion of the “little fellow.
