Una cartolina dalla Calabria

November 17 @ 4:30 pm

Free – $10.00
An image of the beach in Scilla, a town in Calabria, Italy. The beach is in the foreground, with many houses crowded on a rocky cliff in the distance, and the Ruffo Castle overlooking the scene.

Join us for a journey through Calabria from some of Italy’s highest mountain peaks to its sparkling coastal seas.
Discover the charming culture of the birthplace of the name Italy through the eyes of Museo member and Calabrian-American Francesca Gullì Hayes.
This lecture is part of our Regional Series.

Francesca Gullì Hayes is a native San Franciscan whose deep affection for Calabria is a gift from her father, Rocco, born in Scilla (Provincia di Reggio Calabria). After her studies in history and Italian Language and Literature at the University of California, Berkeley, she taught European History at Northern California high schools including Santa Catalina School and the Convent of the Sacred Heart.
